Iraca, or toquilla straw, is a natural fiber that comes from the "Carludovica palmata," from whose leaves fine threads are obtained and then dyed to give them color. Once dry, artisans weave the threads with different colors to create our baskets/containers using traditional techniques. They are made with natural and sustainable iraca fiber, which is obtained from palm trees.
