What size are cloth napkins?
The size of a napkin is directly related to the occasion. You can find them in different sizes, from the smallest and simplest to the largest and most elegant.
Napkins for formal occasions:
Larger napkins, usually 60x60 or 70x70 cm, are typically used for more formal occasions, such as an elegant dinner or a celebration.
Their great advantage, thanks to their size, is that they can be folded in different ways, adding a decorative touch to our table. If you have also ironed them with starch, the sense of elegance will be extreme.
Napkins for everyday use:
The size usually used is 50x50 cm. Both for a family lunch and a dinner with guests that is not so formal.
Napkins for a Buffet:
The most commonly used are 35x35 or 40x40 cm. This smaller format makes them easier to handle.
Napkins for breakfast or an afternoon snack:
It is advisable that the napkin is not too large. 30x30 cm napkins are ideal.
Napkins for a gathering at home:
If you are serving drinks, such as cocktails, the napkin usually used is 25x25 cm. And as a general rule, it is dual-purpose; your guests can use it as a coaster or as a napkin.
The correct way to use it is to place it on your lap, and if it is very large, we can place it folded in half. After eating, the napkin is carefully left slightly folded to one side of the plate.
